Voice TalkersP0ykpak has some of the most interesting and original comedy shorts on the web. Even after the success of Mario Game Over and Hipster Olympics, few knew the Brooklyn comedy group. This sketch about a family of voice artists is one example of their unique and groundbreaking comedy.

By far the most popular video on my list, I have had to have watched this video about a dozen times. I love the absurdity and how it plays off of so many energy drink ads and social norms.

Internet Party

This week, I was slapped in the face by the popularity of Cracked.com Internet Party video. As a noob to the tech game, I assumed that no one outside of this 7by7 square mile city knows or cares about the dozens of video sites that allow you to search by pet name, favorite color, or most inappropriate moment.

What's It Gonna Be?

The other night, I was in a heated conversation about how many online comedians are over producing their rap parodies in a way that makes it seem like they are taking the whole thing way too seriously. Don't get me wrong, their are many artists who dare to be different and their innovation in the space only raises the bar -- Eric Schwartz and Jon Lajoie.

But Does Cherry Chocolate Rain make me laugh longer then a day? Not at all. Do these up-and-coming rap comedians have a chance to lock down the fame of Lazy Sunday or Dick in a Box? Probably not. The result of my rather lengthy conversation brought me back to this gem of a video. An original whitiest rap by comedian Mike O'Connell, What's it Gonna Be? was shot in a single location (your run of the mill dive bar) and never once cuts away from the absurdly laughable performance acted out in front of the lens.

So what's the point? O'Connell didn't have to bust out the bling and his entourage to get his hoes -- he just needed to make them laugh. So maybe what I suggest is that web producers take it back to basics and maybe all the inspiring rockstar comedians will get a little more internet tang.

Linkin Park Live on SNL

I’ll admit to liking Linkin Park but there is something rather off-puting about their new single. Maybe it’s the fact that Linkin was one of the pioneers of the pop rock generation and I expect more from them, but “What I’ve Done” sounds like every other song that Linkin Park has ever done. Actually, it sounds like every song they have done, remixed, and re-released as a new album. I mean, you have to respect a band that is so bad-ass that people are willing to buy their same album twice. But, at a certain point, you’d think that Linkin --who haven't released new material in four years-- might want to step it up a notch.

Demetri Martin Music Videos It Up

Over the past two weeks, Demetri Martin has starred in not one, but two, newly released rock music videos. The first is an Anderson-esque video for Fountains of Wayne that was released earlier today. Though the Wayne video is not my favorite, the thought of Martin being all sad and alone makes me want to fly to New York to console him. But personally, I prefer the video (shown below) for Travis "Selfish Jean". It is simple, resourceful, and seems more in line with DM’s beloved “sketch” comedy.
